Who We Are?

Saving Lives Welfare Organization is a non-profit; non-political, non-sectarian and purely civil society organization registered with Social Welfare Department, Government of Sindh (Regd. No. 2473). It was established by a team of young, devoted and professional social activists. SLWO based in Karachi with its activity area mostly focused in rural areas of Karachi and other cities of whole province of Sindh, Pakistan.

OBJECTIVES

The basic objective behind the establishment was to bring the unassessed and deprived class of the society to mainstream of life.The core members of SLWO have been trained through different leadership trainings and they have expertise on Civil and Social Issues and academic related issues.

SLWO is an independent think – tank and it has been working on education, health, promoting basic education and social awareness to strengthen the marginalized and disadvantage people in the province.

SLWO’s experience in this area is unique. It has committed activists, men and women, both who have been well groomed in the tools and strategies of bringing about change, and have over a decade’s experience of working .

WHAT WE DO

We provide Education

Education is a need of every society, and society uses school as its agent of socialization. Pakistan is still behind in the race/run of education and cannot improve its literacy rate. It has one of the lowest literacy rates among Asian countries. Our educational system of primary and secondary levels has a very high Percentage of students who dropout before completing a particular cycle.Currently Pakistan has world’s second –highest number of out-of-School children with an estimated 22.8 million children aged 5-16 not attending school, representing 44 per cent of the total population in this age group. in Sindh, 52 percent of the poorest children (58 percent girls) are out of school.Pakistan is the second lowest country among those considered whose students have not completed their primary education. Education is a cornerstone of development. It has been proven that education helps in the development of people’s position and status in society, which positively impacts employment, earnings, productivity, health, control over population growth, and the literacy rate.Therefore, Saving Lives Welfare Organization (SLWO) focus on the education of the poor and deserving children belong to marginalize and downtrodden families to make education possible through support of books, unfirms and fees to children to continue their education and get out from stress and use their time effectively for learning and education
